BOOST Women is the RMIT staff mentoring program, specifically designed to support and empower our women. Staff members of any gender or sex can sign up to be a mentor. At the core of all our mentoring programs, we want to connect people and ideas.

Why Become a Mentee?

The Mentoring partnership will provide mentees with a valuable opportunity attain advice and guidance from a fellow staff member on a wide variety of topics such as:
  • Learning more about RMIT,
  • Guidance on career advancement,
  • Professional advice based on lived experience,
  • Confidence building / support

Program Details

  • DURATION: Each round lasts 4 months
  • START DATES: April and October
  • REGISTRATIONS: Currently on hold for 2022
  • MATCHING PROCESS: Mentees self select their own mentor, however, the BOOST Women Mentoring team can also provide mentor recommendations or match mentees to mentors if desired.

The Mentoring Partnership Process

STEP 1: BROWSE MENTOR PROFILES
After completing their profile, mentees are able to browse mentor profiles. Profiles will be ordered from most relevant to least relevant, based off both parties' profile information.
Mentor profiles show the level of support they can provide, their expertise and interests, and information about their career/role to assist with partnership matching.

STEP 2: CONNECT WITH A MENTOR
Now it's time to connect with a mentor via the mentoring platform.
The mentee reaches out to the mentor to arrange their first meeting and clarify any questions with the mentor. The partnership begins with the initial meeting. The better the mentee is prepared, the better the experience will be.

One of the greatest values of mentors is the ability to see ahead what others cannot see and to help them navigate a course to their destination. - John C. Maxwell
