What is mentoring?

Mentoring is an exciting way to accelerate personal and professional development. It goes beyond traditional formalized learning by providing a person with personalized guidance, support, and insights from someone with more experience.

Why Mentoring?

At RMIT, we understand that while formal education is essential, informal and social learning plays a crucial role in personal and professional growth. Our university is home to a wealth of knowledge and experience, thanks to our talented academics, teachers, and professionals.

To cultivate the workforce of the future, we are committed to supporting mentoring activities that pair experienced individuals (mentors) with those who are less experienced (mentees) from across the university. These mentoring relationships are established for a specific time frame, with the goal of facilitating the mentee's growth, learning, and career development. At the same time, mentors have the opportunity to share their expertise, insights, and guidance, enriching their own professional journey.

Whether you have previously benefited from mentoring, are eager to share your knowledge and experience with others, or are looking to build meaningful connections across the university, we are here to support you. Our mentoring program provides all the information and resources you need to get started and make a positive impact.
